The Wedding Stringers specialize in creating the perfect ambience at your wedding or event. Our main focus is, of course, string music, but we can work with any kind of arrangement you wish to create.
Members of the Wedding Stringers played together in their high school orchestra. After college, they reconnected and started playing together more frequently. All three have extensive wedding music experience, having played for numerous weddings and private events.
We are not just a quartet! We are very versatile, offering trios and quartets, as well as collaborating with other instrument types! We will bring only our best for your wedding.
Julie Arnold,
has been playing multiple instruments for 20 years. Julie started playing piano when she was 8, learned viola and violin in middle school, and also started training in vocal performance in high school. She studied both viola and piano in all four years of college. Julie was raised in a musical family where her father sings, acts and plays piano, her mother sings, and her brothers both played piano(her brother is the cellist for the Wedding Stringers). Julie, her father, and Shawn have been in multiple musicals through community theater. Between piano or vocal solos and playing in string ensembles, Julie has completed over 100 weddings. Julie is employed at Palmer College.
Steven Miller,
graduated from Luther College in May of 2009 with a degree in Accounting. He played violin in the Luther College Symphonic Orchestra and toured the West Coast with the group in 2006. Steve began playing the violin when he was five years old. His early training began with the Suzuki method, and he continued to receive private instruction throughout college. Steve performed in school orchestras throughout his years in the Moline School District. He has also excelled in numerous competitions as both a soloist and part of an ensemble. Steve has significant experience playing as a violinist at weddings, receptions, and other special events. He is a former member of a string ensemble known as the Five Stringers.
Molly Price,
graduated as a Viola Performance major from Illinois Wesleyan
University and has been playing the viola for twelve years. Molly is also a vocalist and an adept pianist who
has participated in many choral ensembles and solo competitions. Molly
has had over five years of experience in coordinating weddings and
other special events. She has played for more than 75 weddings.
Shawn Arnold,
graduated with a Mechanical Engineering Bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He has played cello for ten years and has played in the Illinois Music Education Association all-state conference twice in high school. All four years he participated in the IHSA Solo & Ensemble competitions. Shawn has played for weddings and dinner events prior to The Wedding Stringers.
